If and when Brexit is defeated, people will be asking what it was all about and what was gained and what was lost.
It will seem that a lot was lost. A lot of money that could have been spent on worthwhile things was lost.
A promise of some bright, independent future was lost.
So what was gained? A lot was gained.
The right for Parliament - all the representatives - to take control of the country's destiny would be reestablished.
A country with more people interested in and knowledgeable about how this country works, would be gained.
A better relationship with and inside the EU would be gained.
The people who had been trying to destroy Britain's relationship with the EU and the Common Market before it ever since they were established, would be pushed off to the sidelines.
Was it worth it? Yes, it was worth it.
